Personalize your Tablet cover

001.JPGI have always been a fan of putting some kind of emblem on my stuff to personalize it with style, here is my take on a tablet cover and a kindle E book reader protective case , all been done by inexpensive hand tools and some improvised tools to make the job easier, i will be showing how to details for the tablet paisley with the green background i didn't make it for myself but took pictures while i was doing it , the eye for my ebook reader uses the same exact method,  let's get started. 1.JPGafter you pick your design spend sometime studying it , if you didn't draw it yourself chance is it's not drawn with the consideration of fabrication so feel free to make changes accordingly like the picture below the original picture had half flowers i had to cut another half and glow it next t it so i would have full flowers, also decide what materials you are going to use and for which parts i usually like to incorporate stainless brass and copper sometimes colored metal textured or shiny it all depends on your vision for the design , after you decide what is what think ahead of how you gonna connect the pieces together you have lots of choices depends on the material you are using since we are using different colors materials in this design and lots of small parts either use soldering very very carefully i wouldn't recommend for a beginner  or you can use rivets which i decided to use with this design , print a few copies of the design and glue it to your material i use rubber cement holds well and cleans easy .

Homemade Skee Ball Game

I had an idea of how I wanted to make this, but when I began to plan out the details it became much larger in size than I had imagined. It also proved to be much more challenging than I had expected.

The entire structure is designed to accommodate the size of a golf ball. The plan I laid out uses two 49" by 97" sheets of MDF (one 1/2" thick and the other 3/4").

I also used some 1/4" MDF, a few pieces of PVC, an old plastic mudflap, a piece of used plexiglass, and a handful of other little things.

These photos are of the plans that I sketched out. Many things changed as the project progressed, but you can get an idea where it all started.

Make a Tetris clock out of cassette tapes!

What better way to make an 80's game clock than out of 80's materials?!

So I've got a serious surplus of old cassette tapes and they just don't get listened to anymore. I don't want to throw them away, so I'll just use them up on various projects like this one!

This is a fun little Saturday afternoon project, and it really only takes about an hour to make.

Tools:

-Glue gun
-Drill
-Hobby knife

Supplies:

-10 cassette tapes (or more or less depending on your clock design)
-A clock kit (Michaels sells these for cheap)
-Various spray paints (I used green, red and blue)

Ready?

Chinese Dumplings Two Ways With Sichuan Dipping Sauce

IMG_20130526_215751.jpgWe're going to show you how to make Chinese Dumplings two ways. The first is boiled dumplings which ,in this case, are served with Sichuan Dipping Sauce. The second is pan seared style which are usually served plain or with a little light soy dressing.

My girlfriend is Chinese and since we've been dating I have learned many Chinese recipes from her. This is one of the more fun ones to make, especially with a group of friends and family.

IMG_20130526_185318.jpgThis one is easy...

Dough: 5 lbs Flour 3 Cups water
