Convert Pandora Stations to Spotify Playlists with a Chrome Extension

Convert Pandora Stations to Spotify Playlists with a Chrome Extension

Chrome: If you're a frequent Pandora user who also likes Spotify, you know that it kind of stinks you can't get the two services working together. Pandora to Spotify Playlist Converter is an extension that makes this more possible by bringing your Pandora likes and radio stations into Spotify.

Pandora to Spotify Playlist Convertor works in a few different places in Pandora. With the extension installed, just head over to your Pandora page, and select either an artist radio station or your likes. Then Click the Pandora to Spotify button, and the extension builds a playlist for you. Copy the link and enter it in Spotify. Whether you're bouncing around between different stations or you just want a collection of all the tracks you've liked on Pandora, this extension does the job.

Hide Specific Files from Spotlight Search with This File Extension

Hide Specific Files from Spotlight Search with This File Extension

Mac: Spotlight is a fantastic, quick way to search for files, but sometimes you might want to hide files from Spotlight search. OS X Daily shows off a simple way to hide files from Spotlight by just adding a suffix.

All you need to do is add ".noindex" to a file name. So, if you have the folder "Thorinshiddencache," you can change that to "Thorinshiddencache.noindex" and the folder (and everything in it) won't pop up in Spotlight. The folder will still be available and visible, but at least the results won't accidentally pop up in Spotlight when you're searching for something unrelated. If you do want to hide those private files even deeper, something like Obscurity will do the trick.

Imgur Extension by Metronomik Rehosts Images Instantly

Chrome: Imgur took the crown as our favorite image host for it's speed and ease of use, and imgur Extension by Metronomik takes a few extra steps out of the process for Chrome users.

Once the extension is installed, you'll see a "rehost image" option when you right click on any image file in Chrome. You can also click the imgur icon in your extensions list to open up a new tab where you can drag and drop multiple files from your computer to automatically upload to the service. Once they've uploaded, just mouse over the thumbnails and click "copy link" to get direct URLs for the hosted files. If you have an Imgur account, you can also connect it from this page to enable uploading into specific albums.

Imgur was pretty fast to begin with, but this distills the process to a simple right click or drag and drop, without ever having to visit imgur's site. It's fast enough that it will probably replace Bloodrop as my quick image link generator of choice.
