Store Hours, Dead Androids, and Goo Gone Residue

Have you ever reached to a store just after it is closed? Just because you were too lazy to search on the internet what the store hours are?

Well, I have. After being a working mom of an infant and a toddler, I realized that many a times, I lost track of the store hours and reached there at the wrong time.

I then appreciated the importance of “Notes” feature in the “Contacts” of my phone.

I started putting the hours of all the stores I visit frequently, so that I can just go to the Contacts and find out the timings of the store right away without going on internet and searching for it! Same goes for the library and my Chiropractor who has a different schedule every single day of the week.

For no apparent reason this week, my Galaxy Nexus died. It just wouldn't start up. I tried to charge it, showed full battery, then as soon as I went to turn it on, it couldn't get past the boot screen—it just flatlined. Well, after a frustrating rest-of-my-vacation with no phone, I came home and popped in the phone's old, non-extended battery just for fun. The thing booted up as if nothing had ever been wrong.

I'm still not sure what happened, but boy am I glad I tried that old battery before waiting in line for an hour at the Verizon store for support.

Goo Gone is an incredible tool, and it gets rid of sticky residue like nothing else out there. Unfortunately, whenever I use it, it leaves behind an oily residue that's just as bad! Wiping it up doesn't help a ton, but I've finally found something that does: the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Just wipe off the sticky stuff with Goo Gone, then wipe up what's left of the Goo Gone with a Magic Eraser and you'll be able to tackle anything.

Remove Name Tag Residue From Your Shirts with Nail Polish Remover

We've all forgotten to take those sticky name tags off our shirts before tossing them in the wash, and the resulting residue is incredibly difficult to remove. The next time this happens to you, just reach for your nearest bottle of nail polish remover.

All you have to do is set the shirt on a towel, and spot test a drop of acetone-based nail polish remover in an inconspicuous place. It shouldn't harm most clothes, but better safe than sorry. Assuming it didn't damage the shirt, spread some more around the glue residue, and rub vigorously with a hand towel to loosen it up.

This trick works best for natural fibers, but tossing a synthetic fiber shirt in the freezer can actually accomplish the same thing. For more advice on cleaning glue residue off of synthetic fibers, be sure to click through the source link.
