how to grow cat grass

Cat grass is something my cats LOVE. It's a special treat for them - we try to keep it around most of the time. It keeps them entertained and happy. :D

Plus, it's super cheap and easy to grow! It'll take about a week to get it to a good height, but after that, it's a grass eating free-for-all.

More cat pictures on the last step - Big Dee and Luna spent forever grazing when I set it out, and I took waaaaaay too many photos :D

Hide Specific Files from Spotlight Search with This File Extension

Hide Specific Files from Spotlight Search with This File Extension

Mac: Spotlight is a fantastic, quick way to search for files, but sometimes you might want to hide files from Spotlight search. OS X Daily shows off a simple way to hide files from Spotlight by just adding a suffix.

All you need to do is add ".noindex" to a file name. So, if you have the folder "Thorinshiddencache," you can change that to "Thorinshiddencache.noindex" and the folder (and everything in it) won't pop up in Spotlight. The folder will still be available and visible, but at least the results won't accidentally pop up in Spotlight when you're searching for something unrelated. If you do want to hide those private files even deeper, something like Obscurity will do the trick.

SmarterVoice Routes Google Voice Calls Depending on Your Location

SmarterVoice Routes Google Voice Calls Depending on Your Location

iOS: Google Voice is a great way to forward all your calls through one specific phone number, but unfortunately if you have a bunch of phones set up to receive calls, they all ring at once. SmarterVoice uses your location so only specific phones ring based on your location.

Once you download SmarterVoice, you simply set up all the phones you have your Google Voice number forwarded to, and then set the location you want them to ring at. For example, if you're at home, and you want only your home phone to ring when someone calls you and not your mobile phone, then you tap the map and set that location. When your iPhone is at home, only your home phone will ring as long as SmarterVoice is running. Obviously this is only useful if you have a lot of forwarded numbers set up, but if you're sick of hearing a bunch of phones ringing at once when someone calls your Google Voice number it's a handy option to have.

Handmade 100% Natural Shower Loofah

Its been a while since I had grown any vegetables in my kitchen garden, the last one I remember was tomatoes. My next door neighbor has a small mango tree in the backyard which has some branches grown beyond their boundaries and falling into my backyard now. As a neighbor we have been sharing lots of good stuff since ages and helped each other in time of need. Isn't this nice in these times where its hard to maintain relations. Anyways...

Its mango season in India and I was trying to spot some mangoes on that tree(like I said we share like family) and guess what I found, a dried Sponge Gourd..How?. I had grown some sponge gourd in last winter and they lasted till March. The vine actually climbed the mango tree and no one noticed that there was a big fruit grown and hidden from us. You know we call it Gilki (Gil (G as in goat) - kee) in india and every alternate week my mom brings it from farmer's market and cook it.

I could not resist but to pluck it, this reminded me of my grand mother (can never thank you enough ma) who used to make loofah using it, in fact I had used it when I was a kid in times when shower gel was not something we knew or  had access to.

TIP: Do you know here in India we make awesome Gilki Bhajiyas (Fritters made using tender Gourds)? I might write an ible someday about it.

So lets see how we can make a 100% natural shower loofah using a dried Sponge Gourd (or luffa or Gilki) fruit. I will try to cover every nifty detailed I learned from my grand mother, you may find it over simplistic.
